Job Description
We are hiring a Project Controls Project Lifecycle Technical Writer for our Denver Airport team. We are seeking an experienced technical writer to join our team. The technical writer will play a crucial role in implementing standard operating procedures for the Project Life Cycle. You will collaborate with the core project team and stakeholders to update and develop new process guides for project management and project controls. The ideal candidate has a strong background in project management, possesses exceptional technical writing skills, and has a proven track record of delivery within a dynamic and multi-team environment.
PROJECT LIFE CYCLE:
  1. Develop project controls process guides
  1. Develop project life cycle supplements
  1. Checklists, desktop guides, process guides
  1. Develop project management guides
  1. Reporting, Project Management Plan, integration of project controls
  1. Business Case
  1. Support document control policy updates and document reviews
Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate with key stakeholder to map process requirements, document the requirements, and align them to the project life cycle model. This position will work interdependently within a large team with minimal oversight. They will own one document workstream (of the four listed above) based on their strengths/experience.
  2. Develop workshops/working sessions to identify process requirements, user requirements, and perform a high-level gap analysis on existing SOP documents.
  3. Collaborate with the project team to capture comments, integrate accepted recommendations into SOP documents, and provide feedback on all comments back to stakeholders.
  4. Create detailed checklists to meet the needs of stakeholders and simplify process documentation/learning
  5. Develop training content to support understanding and adoption of updated SOP documents
  6. Provide regular summary updates to task leads on progress, milestones, and stakeholder commitments.
  7. Maintain detailed meeting minutes, progress updates, and version control to support delivery of final documents.
  8. Host page-flip sessions, review/verification sessions, and other collaborative meetings both in-person and virtually.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) is a plus.
  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in project controls, project management, or a related role, preferably within industries such as aviation, transportation, or real estate.
  1. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint for development of documents, training, and presentations.
  1. Strong understanding of document control principles, methodologies, and tools.
  1. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and clients.
  1. Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  1. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and compliance frameworks relevant to the project domain.
