Maintenance & Events Crew Lead
Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is hiring for a Maintenance & Events Crew Lead! This position performs specialized operations tasks at THPRD parks, amenities, and buildings in support of district wide special events. The Maintenance & Events Crew Lead serves as a team leader overseeing the work of part-time seasonal employees in the execution of events production.
We are hiring for one (1) seasonal position that may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week, starting in May. Hours may include day, evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Part-time employees are scheduled variable hours and may work less than 1,560 hours per year. Seasonal employees may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week for a maximum duration of 6 consecutive months.
Special events take place year-round, with an increased number of events from May through September at various THPRD park and facilities around the District.

Essential Job Functions

Duties include logistics, set up and breakdown, mowing, landscaping, operating equipment, towing loaded trailer, forklift operation, and equipment maintenance and repairs. Duties also include coordination of lighting, sound, video, set and staging, electrical infrastructure, communications and any other technical equipment necessary for special events.

Candidates should be prepared to work outdoors, on uneven surfaces, in various environmental conditions each week. Physical exertion is required to lift, move, drag, push and carry heavy objects (up to 60 pounds). This position also requires crouching, bending, kneeling, and reaching, operation of motor vehicle on public roadways, towing of trailers and operation of forklift to perform duties.

Qualifications
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
  • Must be age 18 or older
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in park or landscape maintenance or event logistics.
  • Must maintain a valid Oregon Driver License and good driving record
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Experience in event production desired
