These assignments may be broad, varied, diverse in scope and are expected to help you grow to in confidence and technical ability supporting our local, state, and global transportation projects.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in Prepare geometric designs with horizontal and vertical alignmentsAssist in Prepare signing, striping, lighting designs and detailsAssist in Assembling lists of construction items, quantities and costsAssist in Assemble specifications for construction itemsServe as design engineer on local and national transportation projectsSupport multi-discipline design teams on larger facility and transportation projectsIdentify and analyze the principal roadway design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the projects purpose and the clients needsDevelop feasible roadway design alternatives to be compared against significant project parameters such as site conditions, right-of-way requirements, utility conflicts, design standards, and costAssist in producing detailed, high-quality final design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable procedures and standardsParticipate with quality control reviews of technical contract documentsUtilize CAD software in development of two - and three-dimensional modelsQualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsDemonstrated experience with CAD (Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads, and InRoads a plus)Attention to detail and accuracyProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteSelf-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skillsExperience and knowledge with roadway and/or site designRoad drainage design and analysis experience a plusPossess a valid drivers license and good driving recordEducation and ExperienceBachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)Minimum of 3 years of roadway and/or site design experiencePosition will primarily work in an office setting; may require some minor field work.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other's talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
