We can ONLY consider your application if you have:

1: Bachelor's (STEM) Degree
2: 5 years of experience (3 with Master's degree) in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations.
3: Professional Engineering License (preferably from California - consideration will be given if candidate is within 1 year of completing certification)
4: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access
5: Professional Engineering with the ability to analyze simple to complex problems via hand calculations and FEM, respectively.
6: Experience with stress analysis techniques, concepts and practices
7: Experienced in structural analysis methods including FEMAP/NASTRAN models of metallic and composite structures.
8: Computer Aided Design Tools - Basic knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems ((CAD) computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files).
9: Engineering Drawings & Specs - Basic ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications in accordance with ASME 14.5. Basic level understanding of GD&T
10: Able to communicate with various levels of leadership, must be able to coordinate and resolve interpersonal and technical problems and must work well either in a team or independently with limited guidance

We are looking for an engineer who has a structural analysis background to assist in generating the structural engineering analysis package to demonstrate compliance of tooling fixtures such as assembly & lifting jigs in an aerospace fabrication environment. The person in this role shall analyze, research and provide input on product design, or operation of product involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability, stress fatigue, damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and thermal analysis. While being principal contributor and/or leader of a task, this person shall work with internal/external customers, and colleagues to ensure that the design meets the customer needs.

The candidate is expected to be familiar with current fabrication/machine shop practices to provide guidance to engineers. It is essential that this person have the ability to mentor less experienced engineers, work autonomously and in a team environment, adapt to processes and company policy while providing input or methods of process/design innovation. In this role the person will assist in the design industrial tools, composite dies, drill fixtures, machine attachments and equipment, required for production or experimental use.

DESIRED (not required) SKILLS:
:: Experience with industry standard aerospace to conceptualizing designs using 3D modeling tools including NX & CATIA
:: Creating drawings for fabrication via CAD, with properly laid out views and dimensions that are in compliance with ASME Y14.1-5 standards.
:: Direct Aerospace Tooling experience
:: Experience with fabrication applying such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.
:: Direct experience with Tooling mechanics and analysis relative to stress

Duties and Responsibilities
== Performance of Static and dynamic analysis in support of Major/Minor and simple to complex Tooling fixtures and structures
== Creation of Professional reports in support of completed analysis as well as review reports of others
== Provide PE certification of analysis/work completed
== Engage with other team members in meetings, 1:1's and others in order to provide the right solution to complex engineering problems
