University of Michigan is Hiring a Radiologic Technologist (Sign-On Bonus) Near Ann Arbor, MI

We are actively seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-centered Radiologic Technologist who will share in the goal of creating the ideal imaging experience for patients, families, and team members. This candidate will serve a vital role, providing patient care at three sites of service where coverage is needed: Burlington Building Back and Pain, Burlington Building PM&R, and Northville Health Center Radiology offsite location. This will be an exciting learning experience and work opportunity: General Imaging work includes a focus on MPU procedures such as single and bilateral L5-S1 facet joint injections, radiofrequency ablations,single level epidural, and cervical facet injections. In addition, the technologist will perform outpatient Orthopedic, CMC, Internal Medicine studies, (and other clinic support), Arthrograms, and walk-in General Imaging services.Mission Statement Michigan Medicine improves the health of patients, populations and communities through excellence in education, patient care, community service, research and technology development, and through leadership activities in Michigan, nationally and internationally. Work at Michigan Medicine and become a victor for the greater good.What Benefits can you Look Forward to?Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your very first day2:1 Match on retirement savingsResponsibilities* The Radiologic Technologist will:Perform high quality MPU and diagnostic procedures, applying principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, staff, and practitioners.Position patients for detailed orthopedic protocols, arthrograms, and MPU procedures, using appropriate radiation protection devices and immobilizing techniques for age specific patient populations.Evaluate images for technical quality, demonstration of area of interest, permanent marker usage, and patient identification.Maintain knowledge of and observe universal precautions and all other precautions determined by Michigan Medicine.Respond to patients changing physical conditions, such as changes in airway/breathing, heart rate, acute change in level of consciousness, seizure etc.Effectively communicate with patients to obtain important clinical information, ensure correct order and laterality, instruct the patient, relieve anxiety, and gain cooperation during procedures, etc.Understand and apply guest relations skills and display excellent customer service. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Demonstrate excellent teamwork.Adapt to changing environments (flexible schedules, emergency conditions, protocol development, and technology advancements).Function effectively under conditions which are often fast paced and stressful.Maintain current ARRT registration.Maintain current BLS certification.Perform additional duties as required at an outpatient facility, including unloading and stocking PAR carts and laundry cabinets, taking inventory, and other tasks as needed.Required Qualifications* Graduation from a school of radiologic technology is necessary. Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology is required within the first six months of employment.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrate critical thinking skills, ingenuity, creativity, and professionalism.Must have physical ability to push, pull, assist, and transfer patients safely.Must display physical dexterity using fine and large motor skills.In addition, the successful incumbent will demonstrate/possess the following:High enthusiasm and exceptional work ethic.Show respect for all patients, families, and team members (all roles).Adhere to high standards of teamwork by demonstrating adaptability, dependability, flexibility; in addition, must exhibit a desire for consistent learning and share information and resources with others.Desired Qualifications* PACS/EMR experience as well as proficient computer entry skills. Experience in MPU/C-Arm procedures.Work Schedule 40 hours per week / day-shift hours, weekdays / rotating SaturdaysWork Locations *Building/rm #:*This role consists of three sites of service where coverage is needed: Burlington Back and Pain, Burlington PM&R, and NHC RadiologyAdditional Information Sign-On BONUS: $2,500: $1250 after 6 months of successful employment / $1250 after 12 months of successful employmentMichigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
