A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ENTRY-LEVEL REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR

As a licensed RPLS, you play a crucial role in keeping our business running. You work with both commercial and residential clients when they come to us for production and home building services. Upon learning about a project, you prepare plot plans and obtain elevation certificates. You search legal records, survey records, and land titles in order to obtain information about the property boundaries in the areas scheduled to be surveyed.

In addition, you write legal descriptions for easements and boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases, and other legal documents. After performing your land surveying work, you prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports to describe, certify, and assume liability for surveys performed. You also direct or conduct surveys in order to establish tract or parcel boundaries. Performing quality work makes you feel good, and you find great satisfaction in helping others!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ENTRY-LEVEL REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR

• RPLS licensure for the state of Texas
• Ability to ensure deliverables meet quality control standards
• Knowledge about AutoCAD or Civil 3D
