Founded in 1960, Trans Ash is a rapidly growing privately held Cincinnati, Ohio-based civil land construction & environmental company. We are expanding our survey services and are seeking to add a Site Surveyor to our surveying team to work on a long-term civil land construction project with our valued customer in the utility industry. This position will be based out of the Belews Creek, North Carolina area and some travel within North Carolina and neighboring states will be required periodically including to the home office located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Compensation for this role, subject to years of experience, education level, training, and certifications, includes:

• Starting salary range of $80,000 to $110,000
• Quarterly Profit Sharing Bonus after completing the probation period

Job Description:

The Site Surveyor is responsible for all aspects of executing the surveying needs of the site per the contract drawings and specifications. Work will include all aspects of surveying including; baseline surveys, construction layout, as-built surveys, aerial (drone) surveying, hydro surveying, and associated CAD work. The surveyor is an integral part of the project team, will communicate with the senior leadership in Cincinnati and communicate directly to the customer. Experienced and entry-level surveyors and civil engineers are encouraged to apply.

Essential Functions:

• Site surveying, CAD, and machine control management
• Performs work both in the field and in an office environment
• Performs construction staking and topographic surveys
• Assists in the creation of as-built drawings for project QA/QC
• Maintain survey records, GPS, and CAD files
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents
• Accommodate client and job site needs by responding to all inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education:

• The ideal candidate will possess a 2 or 4-year degree in surveying, engineering, construction management, or a related field
• 5 years of experience in the field management of construction surveying projects is preferred

Training Requirements:

• Proficient with business software: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Experience using Trimble GPS equipment and Trimble machine control is preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred
• Experience with Trimble Business Center is preferred
• Experience with Hypack dredge/surveying software is preferred
• PLS, LSIT or Certified Survey Technician III / IV (CST III / IV) preferred, but not required

Other Information:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work in all types of weather, walk for extended periods of time
• Must be physically able to perform the work outside.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, MVR, and background check.
• Must be able to work in a construction environment.
• Must have a valid driver s license.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
