Topography Health is Hiring a Budgets & Contracts Specialist Near Madison, WI

Topography Health is a first-of-its-kind, physician-focused clinical trials platform. We offer a full stack of tools and services to empower doctors to gather evidence within an existing practice. Our mission is to accelerate clinical research by increasing the investigative capacity of every physician, creating a new world of medicine where patients have seamless access to advanced research. We care deeply about creating data sets that are more inclusive and representative, and we're determined to change how research is conducted at the community level. We're backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Bain Capital Ventures, and other great financial and strategic partners.
OVERVIEW
Topography Health is seeking a highly organized and proactive Budgets & Contracts Specialist to support budget and contract negotiations with life sciences companies sponsoring clinical research. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be adept at driving the budget and contract process from review to negotiation to signature to filing, in accordance with company policies and high quality standards, while keeping interested parties informed as to the status of the project and any potential roadblocks.
This role requires building strong relationships with various research stakeholders (research management team, clinical research coordinators, sponsors, CROs, investigator physicians, finance, technology teams, regulatory teams, and clinical vendors), so a team mentality and responsiveness are a must. You should possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strong drafting and negotiation skills - we're looking for someone who prefers to resolve things in real-time with a phone call to the counterparty instead of trading multiple rounds of emails.
To succeed in this role you will need to be persistent, diligent, and motivated, with an initiative to learn and contribute as Topography Health grows and continues to refine playbooks and processes. Strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities is a must. Comfort working with technology systems is required as well as the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive projects to completion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a proactive and positive liaison between Topography Health's Legal Team/Finance Team and industry sponsors, as well as our internal business partners and physician investigators.
Read and interpret clinical trial study documents including Protocol, Budget, Contract, Informed Consent, and Laboratory Manuals and provide concise summaries to team members.
Draft, review, negotiate, and process contracts and budgets with accuracy and in accordance with fixed deadlines and company standards, including clinical trial agreements and budgets/payment terms, amendments, statements of work, vendor agreements, master services agreements, project orders, letters of indemnity, and other standard research agreements, while adhering to quality standards and maintaining version control.
Manage a high complexity workflow and be accountable to monitor and maintain internal SLAs for response times and outcomes.
Process electronic signatures in accordance with applicable regulations and maintain and organize contract repositories.
Work directly with our Legal Team to escalate and analyze complex legal issues, including privacy issues, and track communications and positions for long-term knowledge management.
Help develop and implement playbooks to improve contract and budget templates and streamline processes (including technology-based processes).
Contribute to data analysis and support the development and implementation of reporting to keep stakeholders informed of metrics relevant to their operations.
Assist with other projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent 4 years of work experience
3 years of experience with budget negotiations
3 years of experience with general contract drafting, negotiation, and processing
3 years of experience meeting goals and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
3 years of experience working with various technology tools (AdobeSign, Docusign, monday.com, Salesforce)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3 years of experience working in research
Located in Madison, WI
