This is a 2nd shift position

1.0 INTRODUCTION

  1. The purpose of this procedure is to define and establish the functions, duties, authority, and responsibilities of the Receiving and Shipping I position for Todd’s.

2.0 FUNCTIONAL ROLE

2.1 The function of the Receiving and Shipping I is to make sure that all received goods within the facility are unloaded, recorded, and accurately placed in the pre-determined places within the warehouse and all finished have been properly prepared to ship.

3.0 REQUIREMENTS

  1. Education
    1. Required: High School Diploma.
    2. Preferred: 1 year of college focusing on Logistics and Warehouse Management Controls
  1. Experience
    1. Required: Basic Computer Proficiency
    2. Required: Minimum 6 Months Experience with Entering and Removing Data In and Out of Inventory System.
    3. Required: 3 Months of Experience dealing with BOL’s and BOM’s.
    4. Required: Completed Forklift certification and Safety Training
    5. Preferred: SQF Training on Product Handling Processes
  1. Skill, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Ability to Read, Write, Spell, and Orally Communicate Clearly in English
  • Ability to Read, Write, Spell, and Orally Communicate Clearly in Spanish is a Plus
  • Ability to Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide
  • Ability to Complete Detailed and Accurate Work in a Timely Manner
  • Ability to Conduct yourself in a Professional Manner.
  • Ability to Organize, Sort, and Categorize Incoming Materials and Goods
  • Ability to Understand Metric and lb. Conversion Rates for Raw Goods and Incoming Products
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision

3.4 Physical

Body Positions: Standing, sitting, walking, crouching, and stooping.

Body Movements: Extensive use of hands, arms, and fingers.

Senses: Sighted, speaking, hearing

Lifting: Normal up to 55 lbs.

Occasionally up to 70 lbs.

3.5 Working conditions

  • Warehouse is a controlled smoke free environment
  • Employees will be expected to wash hands before entering warehouse
  • Employees will be expected to wear gloves, masks, and other essential protection equipment as required by Quality Control

4.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  1. The Receiving and Shipping I reports to the Receiving and Shipping Lead
  2. No positions report to The Receiving and Shipping I
  3. The Receiving and Shipping I works with the Receiving and Shipping Lead and

Quality Control on proper handling and storing of inventoried products.

5.0 AUTHORITY

  1. The Receiving and Shipping I has the authority to delegate tasks to anyone under his/her direct authority based on their trained experience and ability to perform the functions.

6.0 DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Enters Data into Todd’s Systems Accurately to Reflect what has been

Physically Unloaded and Received.

  1. Responsible for Pulling Raw Goods and Packaging Materials out of Inventory

Locations and moving them to Staging Areas for Staging Based on Scheduled

Work Orders and communication with Staging lead.

  1. Signs off on Bill of Materials and Fills out Lot Numbers in Paperwork Associated

with Work Center Orders

  1. Responsible for Pulling Raw Goods and Packaging Materials out of Inventory to Fulfill Todd’s Sales Orders in the System.
  1. Ensures Receiving is Processed in a Timely Manner and Receiving Does not Restrict Work Center Throughput or Production.
  1. Unloads trucks as requested and properly puts raw materials and packaging in the correct spaces in the warehouse.
  1. Checks on Inventory Stored for Customers as requested and

Communicates Changes to his/her direct report.

  1. Notifies direct report when Inventory Stocks are Low on Bulk Goods and

Specialty Goods Based on Observation and Experience.

  1. Prepares Bill of Ladings for Shipping of Finished Goods to Customer and Notifies

Appropriate Positions Within Todd’s Product is Ready to Ship

  1. Prepares Finished Goods for Shipping or Transfer as Needed
  1. Receives trailers from customers, unloads and reloads customer trailers as necessary to understand and log exactly what is in customer supplied trailers.
  1. Reads Labels to Recognize and Identify Product Properties for Allergens, Organics, and Kosher to Determine Proper Location Placing Within the Warehouse.
  1. Recognizes Received Goods that are Non-conforming and Notifies Quality Manager to Determine if Load Should Be Rejected or Accepted.
  1. Tidies and Cleans Work Area at the End of His/Her Shift.
  1. Assists with Ingredient Staging as needed or Required by Receiving and Shipping Lead
  1. Prepares Packing Slips for Deliveries and Bill of Ladings for Outbound Shipments as needed to support Receiving and Shipping Team
  1. Takes pictures of loaded goods in outbound trailers to establish proof of load.
  1. Makes sure outgoing trucks are sealed and trucker identification information has been properly recorded before releasing truck drivers
  1. Other Related Duties as Requested by Management
  1. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS
  1. Maintains a Cooperative Working Relationship with all Employees.
  1. Promotes a High Degree of Morale and a Spirit of Motivation Amongst Members of the Team.
  1. Always Gives Proper Notice of Absences and Vacation Time to Direct Supervisor.

8.0 MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE

The Receiving and Shipping Lead will evaluate the performance of the Receiving and Shipping I.

  1. Trucks Have Been Unloaded on Time and Received Goods Have Been Moved to there Proper Place Within the Warehouse.
  1. All Received Goods have been Accurately Recorded in the System and Placed in the Proper Position in the Warehouse.
  1. Work Orders and Purchase Orders Have been Processed through Receiving and Shipping with Minimum Errors
  1. The Receiving and Shipping Lead is satisfied with the level of support they have received from the Receiving and Shipping I.
  1. Physical Inventory Levels are Within plus/minus 2% of Book Inventory During Annual Inventory Audits
