Job Description
Job Summary:
Our client, a leading candy manufacturer, is seeking 3rd shift forklift drivers and lead forklift drivers. The main responsibilities involve safely and efficiently leading the warehouse team, delegating tasks to operators, and providing updates on warehouse activities to the shift supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily with the shift supervisor to discuss staffing and tasks.
- Relay information to forklift drivers as instructed by the supervisor.
- Oversee training for new hires alongside the supervisor.
- Lead by example, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Communicate effectively, assign tasks equitably, and manage the entire warehouse operations.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership abilities.
- Experience in warehouse lead roles.
- Basic arithmetic and reading comprehension; GED preferred.
- Forklift certification required; bilingual skills are an advantage.
- Forklift certifications (Toyota sit-downs and Raymond reach truck).
Working Conditions:
- Combination of office and warehouse settings with temperatures ranging from 55 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May involve weekend work or different shifts to meet business needs.
- Physical activities include standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
