CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER -CINCINNATI COUNTRY DAY - FULL TIME- $5K SIGN ON BONUS
By becoming the Athletic Trainer, you will be on the side lines of sporting events to evaluate injuries as they happen. You will work closely with the Team Physician, coaches and other school personnel to ensure all student athletes and their families have access to quality orthopaedic care.

Position Responsibilities/Standards:
General
  • Attend department, clinic or company meetings as required
  • Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns
  • Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow staff members.
  • Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
  • Attend required quarterly ATC meetings, periodic clinic staff meetings, clinic in-services and monthly journal club meetings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all company policies and procedures. Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor.
Job Duties (High School)
  • Organizes and administers the overall athletic training program of extracurricular athletics, including, but not limited to: injury recognition, assessment, treatment and disposition of athletic injuries in conjunction with the Lead School ATC.
  • Thoroughly evaluates various athletic injuries, determining which injuries can be treated properly in the training room and which ones need to be referred to other allied health care professionals.
  • Provide comprehensive preventative and rehabilitative care to the injured athlete, utilizing modalities and therapeutic exercise, as well as functional return to sport activities.
  • Develops and maintains excellent communication and a positive working relationship with the team physician(s); as he/she works to be a liaison between the athletes, coaches, parents and physician.
  • Establishes and maintains all injury records at the school. Completes all written documentation in accordance with departmental policy and procedure for timeliness, format and content.
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to properly cover athletic events, daily rehabilitation hours and various practices; according to the expected coverage listed on the respective contract of each school.
  • Responsible for budget management of the training room; including the purchasing and inventory of all supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinates annual continuing education requirements for coaching, including, but not limited to: Pupil Activity Validation, and Adult CPR/AED.
  • Actively participates in assisting fellow co-workers with the following: conflict event coverage, various tournaments, coaches CPR/First Aid classes and summer pre-participation physicals.
Job Duties (PT Clinic, if required )
  • Must follow established procedures and observing safety precautions in the application and use of heat, cold, light, water, sound and massage
  • Must carry out positioning and exercise
  • Must train patients in exercise, ambulation, and activities of daily living
  • Responsible for carrying out treatment with special equipment
  • Responsible for caring for braces, prostheses, bandages and other actual assistive devices.
  • Must observe and report patient responses to treatment to the PT
  • Accurate and timely documentation to be cosigned by PT
  • Must have accurate and timely documentation to be cosigned by PT
  • Serves as an assistant to the PT when the PT performs tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures
  • Responsible for participating in clerical and reception activities.
  • Must comply with procedures to maintain supplies and equipment
  • Must maintain surveillance of environment conditions within the PT service
  • Must assist in the training and supervision of PT aides.
  • Must perform other duties as assigned by the PT
Education/Experience Required:
  • Must be licensed in athletic training in the state of Ohio and maintain current NATABOC certification.
  • Must have adequate knowledge and skill to apply the principles of quality P.T. care
  • Must have motivation to augment his/her professional knowledge.
  • Must have emotional stability to exercise consistent, sound, professional judgment; compliance with the morals of society and an awareness of the needs of his/her fellow personnel and commitment to responding to those needs.
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements for the position include the ability to frequently hear and communicate orally, see up close and at a distance, read and comprehend, stand, sit, walk, reach, handle, and/or feel objects. Must be able to climb, pull, push, squat and/or kneel. Ability to demonstrate exercises properly without limitations. Maximum unassisted lift = over 50 lbs. Average lift 25-50 lbs.
