Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Safety

· Adhere to established Safety Practices / Procedures / & Regulations to assure Employee Safety at all times.

· Assure Controls Equipment conforms to OSHA, DEQ standards – regulations.

Employee Development

· Work with maintenance and production staff to increase their proficiency in controls and automation troubleshooting.

· Teach and train operators on how to safely resolve automation faults and errors.

· Continue education to stay abreast of the latest technology.

Training and Quality
Participation in Planning (Process Flow / PFMEA / Control Plan) Activities as part of the Cross Functional Team.

Assist during transition of new lines into mass production – training on new automation.

Create and maintain automation training documentation to assist with daily operations.
·Assist in training and development on controls systems concepts and designs.

Continual Improvement

· Utilize controls technology to enhance the safety of the workplace, as directed.

· Under the direction of management, work to reduce costs in quality and labor through the use of automation and controls.

Competency:

Track multiple projects and prioritize objectives
Initiate and maintain communication through the use of voice and electronic media
Enter and interpret data using manual and electronic applications
Interpret graphs, tables and blue prints

Responsibility:

· Maintain and troubleshoot software programs for control systems, including PLC/Robotic controllers, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.

· Assist in developing controls and electrical components. Read and interpret software control Ladder logic, FANUC robot programming, electrical diagrams, manuals, and drawings.

· Perform installation, maintenance, testing and calibration of Auto gauges, proximity sensors, laser sensors, control valves, level switches, pressure switches, temperature switches, flow meters, Laser markers, and associated equipment that send and receive data.

· Assist in performing and training of Robot PM’s to reduce automation related downtime and maintenance costs.

· Determine root causes of automation related issues concerning throughput, quality, and equipment efficiency..

Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical, robotic, sensor and motor controls for all departments. 
Create project work flow and support internal departments to insure timely delivery of projects, expected quality, safety and budget. 
Architect programs that are simple and functional in an industrial finishing setting. 
Provide technical support to internal customers. 

Experience:

Min. Requirements:

  • Ability to read, understand, and write Allen-Bradley ladder logic using RSLogix500/RSLogix5000/Studio.
  • Ability to manipulate HMI functions using Allen-Bradley Factory Talk ME software.
  • Ability to read, follow, and understand electrical control schematics.
  • Proficient with Fanuc robots.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Understanding of vision systems in inspection and guidance applications.
  • Strong understand of Industrial electricity and controls systems.
  • Automotive manufacturing environment experience of at least 2 years.
