General Description

Reporting to the U.S. Corporate Controller in Chandler, AZ, this position will be responsible for accounting for our manufacturing businesses located in Chandler and Tempe. Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Prepare monthly journal entries.
• Maintain schedules, and worksheets, and reconcile all balance accounts to the general ledger monthly.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, and supporting schedules, and explain variances.
• Assist the General Manager or U.S. Corporate Controller with any special projects or the creation of any budgets, forecasts, or financial reporting.
• Participate in providing our CPA firms with items needed to perform the annual audit and to prepare tax returns.
• Perform cost accounting functions to analyze manufacturing costs, and product pricing, and to determine necessary journal entries.
• Maintain the Sale/Use tax system, which includes working with our service provider to ensure timely and proper filing of state sales tax reports.
• Ensure that critical deadlines of tax filings and payments are met.
• Responsible for the preparation and review of SOP’s and performance of cross-training within the Accounting Department.
• Advise the Accounting Specialist in the performance of journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecast and perform bank account transfers.
• Be a business partner and support other department managers to continuously improve procedures, controls, and systems.
• Continuously improve accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation of processes and policies.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Required).
• 2 years of Accounting Experience Required (5 years Preferred)
• Manufacturing Accounting Experience (Preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication both verbally and in writing.
• English (Required).
• Local candidates only, no relocation.

Schedule:

• Full Time - Onsite only, not remote.
• Choice of 4 ten-hour days Mon-Thu (6:00 am - 4:30 pm), or 4 nine-hour days Mon-Thu (6:00 am - 3:30 pm) and a 4-hour day on Friday (6:00 am - 10:00 am).
• In-office position – Chandler, AZ (Chandler Blvd. and I-10 area)

Compensation : $75k -$90k annual salary DOE

The Accountant must communicate effectively, build relationships with others, adapt to new situations, manage time effectively, follow directions and routines, work independently with appropriate judgment, exhibit spatial awareness, read words and numbers, understand basic math, concentrate, memorize, and recall, identify logical connections, determine sequence of response, and process up to 2-3 steps ahead. Ability to attend work on a regular, predictable, and consistent basis as well as commute to and from work safely, and arrive at work on time, is expected.

While performing the duties of this job, the Accountant will work in a standard office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The position involves walking, climbing stairs/using an elevator, sitting, talking, and hearing throughout the 8-10-hour shift. Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, filing and scanning, are required. This would require the ability to lift files, and open filing cabinets as necessary.
