Job Summary

The Part-Time Medical Supply Analyst is responsible for conducting formative and summative data collection on medical supplies, managing and monitoring the availability of materials, resources and distribution of medical equipment and supplies for Medical Campus.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Performs quantitative data collection; integrates and analyzes data to purchase medical supplies and equipment from multiple departments at MDC-Medical campus using People-Soft and the Omnicell Supply Management System

* Provides feedback on data collection instruments and protocols and analysis plans

* Produces detailed technical reports on medical supplies utilization based on courses and programs

* Maintains data reports and documentation needed to ensure best practices and compliance with accreditation

* Maintains departmental budget allocated for supply purchases and oversees cost containment initiatives

* Ensures accurate inventory of materials and supplies

* Oversees the efficient distribution of items from Central Supply to multiple labs; oversees restocking of assigned areas

* Works closely with faculty/staff and lab managers to ensure appropriate availability of medical supplies and resources

* Maintains inventory of associated technology equipment and computer systems for medical instruments, tracking and reporting

* Manages and ensures efficient delivery of teaching supply carts and associated materials

* Provides technical assistance and information to faculty and students

* Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related work experience in inventory control

* Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures

* Knowledge of computer software and department related applications

* Knowledge of medical supplies, medical equipment, and understanding a wide range of medical products and their applications

* Ability to understand and adhere to OSHA regulations

* Working knowledge of proper handling of hazardous chemicals and waste

* Knowledge of computer based instrument tracking system and inventory control

* Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

* Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff

Additional Requirements

The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
