Job Summary
The Center for Computational Sciences (CCS) is seeking an Administrative Staff Officer I (ASO I). The Center for Computational Sciences has supported high performance computing for research and teaching since 1987. As a center under the Office of the Vice President for Research, CCS supports more than 75 research groups in a variety of disciplines.
The Administrative Staff Officer I will report to the center director and manage budget, finance, and personnel for the center. The ASO will prepare detailed financial reports for the CCS director including monthly reconciliations, projected expenditures, and ad hoc reports. Additionally, the ASO will manage personnel and position data for CCS. This includes maintaining position descriptions in the Integrated Employment System (IES), processing personnel actions in SAP, and maintaining personnel cost distributions using the Cost Distribution Entry Module (CDEM).
The Administrative Staff Officer I will liaise with the Collaborative Grants Services staff to provide necessary information for grant proposals and to support post-award activities as needed. The ASO will oversee the planning and coordination of CCS research proposals, conferences, committee meetings, and CCS publicity material.
The qualified candidate will be able to work independently, think critically, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
