Job Description:
Functions independently and consistently in the delivery of quality care to patients with communication or swallowing disorders in accordance with individual patient needs, physician orders, department policies and procedures and standards of practice. Evaluates patients, plans and implements treatment programs and documents treatment accurately. Coordinates treatment with physical and occupational therapy when appropriate to ensure patient needs are met. Educates patients and families. Provides care to patients of varying ages with age related needs.
Required Skills:
1. Knowledge of Speech-Language Pathology principles and procedures.
2. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
3. Good communication and interpersonal skills in view of frequent interaction with patients, staff and visitors.
4. Good problem-solving ability to in order to determine the best methods to address patient problems.
Required Experience:
A. Work Experience:
None.
B. License/Registration/Certification:
Current Texas license.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
CPR Required.
C. Education and Training:
Master of Science degree in Speech/Language Pathology, or equivalent education if trained outside of U.S.
