The Staff Pad is Hiring a Lab/Field QC Technician - Geotechnical Near Bishop, CA

The Staff Pad has partnered with an engineering company committed to delivering high-quality products/services to their clients. We are looking for a Field QC Technician to join this growing organization in Bishop, California.
Field materials testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt. Tasks include working on both Quality Control and Quality Assurance projects for various clients in Northern Nevada and North Eastern California. Must have flexible hours and willing to work weekends at times and overtime during the summer months.

Skills should include experience with Field testing of soil, concrete and asphalt with NAQTC and ACI certifications preferred. Must be capable of producing daily reports using Microsoft word and excel programs from IPADs and laptop computers.

**This position does require travel** 
Responsibilities:
1. On-Site Inspections:Conduct routine inspections at project sites to verify that work is performed according to established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Testing and Analysis: Perform field tests and analyses to assess the performance, durability, and reliability of products/services, ensuring they meet or exceed specifications.
3. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection and test results, documenting any deviations from quality standards and collaborating with relevant teams to address issues.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to communicate quality requirements, provide feedback, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Root Cause Analysis:Investigate and identify the root causes of quality issues, proposing and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
6. Compliance: Ensure that all work complies with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
7. Training:Provide training to field staff on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices to enhance overall quality awareness.
8. Reporting: Generate and submit regular reports on field quality performance, highlighting key metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years experience in quality control or a related field, with a strong background in on-site inspections and testing. Nuclear density testing preferred, but not required.
  • ACI Certified - Field Grade 1
  • NAQCT Sampling & Density module Certification
  • Caltrans certified preferred but not required
  • Proficient in using testing equipment, data analysis tools, and quality management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address root causes of quality issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish positive working relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed and adapt to changing project requirements.
