Position Overview:
The School Compliance Manager will manage various day-to-day responsibilities related to ensuring SEED Miami's adherence to regulatory and compliance standards. This includes monitoring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, and collaborating with internal teams to uphold the organization's commitment to compliance and ethical practices.
Essential Functions:
  • Compile data from diverse sources, including staff and public agencies, to analyze issues, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and monitor program components.
  • Facilitate various meetings, including eligibility hearings, to identify appropriate actions and develop recommendations. Provide guidance to staff on compliance-related matters, offering support throughout compliance-related procedures.
  • Monitor the latest developments in FLDOE and Miami-Dade County Public Schools' compliance, current regulations, and evolving trends/changes in Title programs.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the grant application and administrative processes linked to Title funds.
  • Manage MDCPS grant applications, ongoing monitoring/implementation, invoicing/payments and reporting.
  • Possess a general understanding of school finance, budgeting, and fiscal processes.
  • Ensure that charter school activities comply with all relevant district, state, and federal laws and regulations by conducting regular monitoring.
  • Collaborate with human resources to ensure compliance with teacher credentialing rules and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance is consistently applied across the ESE/ESOL Title 1 and master scheduling departments.
  • Implements systems of leadership, support, and guidance for school personnel, so that educational programs for students with exceptionalities are implemented in compliance with IDEA and related federal and state laws, rules and regulations.
  • Monitor the accurate and timely completion of reporting requirements.
  • Independently review and evaluate organizational compliance issues, ensuring proper monitoring, evaluation, investigation, and reporting.
  • Oversee the implementation of charter school applications and contracts to ensure their successful execution.
  • Coordinate and oversee the submission of monthly and annual billing for fee-based services to charter schools, utilizing both electronic and print formats.
  • Attend state and/or local professional meetings to stay informed on developments relevant to SEED Miami.
  • Offer comprehensive policy insights, guidance, and counsel to the Head of School, the Executive Leadership Team, and staff. Focus on fostering an ethical and compliant culture across all programs and activities.
Qualifications and Competencies:
The School Compliance Manager will possess the following:

Required Experience and Education:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Law, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience, with a significant portion in compliance roles.
  • Strong background in regulatory compliance, and risk management
  • Successfully developed and implemented effective compliance programs and policies.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills fostering effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant technologies and tools for compliance monitoring and reporting.
  • Familiarity with auditing and investigative processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of public educational school choice, legislation, and statutory requirements for charter schools. (Preferred)
  • Valid Florida's Educator's Certificate (Preferred)
