We provide gender responsive residential and outpatient treatment, infant mental health and family services and supportive housing that helps women create healthy, supportive relationships in their lives and set them on the path toward achieving their self-directed goals.

We are looking for an Infant Mental Health Family Therapist who will join our Infant Mental Health and Family Services team and who can support pregnant and parenting women, their children and their families in the recovery process from substance use, violence and trauma. Are you that individual?

This is a rewarding position that requires a strong understanding of the centrality of holding the infant in the center of the family healing process. This position works closely with the Program Coordinator, Parent Coaches and our 'Ohana Engagement and Recovery Facilitator but also within the larger multi-disciplinary substance use treatment team.

Responsibilities:

* Complete Comprehensive Developmental Evaluations on residential dyads
* Develop Individualized Family plans and strategies to include, but not limited to:
* Reunification and visitation support
* Father and extended family engagement
* Child development and sibling support
* Coordinate IMH and Family Services with greater clinical team and external service providers associated with the child
* Provide Family Therapy, Play Therapy, Individual Parenting Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or Child/Parent Psychotherapy
* Support Infant Mental Health Interventions that could include:
* Preventative check-ins with new moms
* Prenatal and postpartum support
* Staff coaching and support in specialized areas
* Dyadic brief interventions
* Participate in weekly department meetings and as appropriate substance use treatment or housing case meetings
* Participate regularly in Reflective Supervision and Consultation (RSC) with supervisor
* Attend Family Education and monthly pa'ina (family engagement activities) as scheduled
* Facilitate psycho-educational parenting and relationship groups and/or classes
* Document service plans and service delivery according to FTS policy and procedures (ensure and/or delegate services entries into electronic medical records system).

Qualifications:

  • Requirements:
    • Master's degree in psychology, social work, mental health, family therapy or similar field are required.
    • If not otherwise held, must be willing to obtain IMH-Endorsement and/or Child/Parent Psychotherapy rostering within one year of employment or in accordance with professional development plan established at hire.
  • Preferences include:
    • Clinical license or a willingness to work towards clinical licensure.
    • Specialized training in infant and early childhood mental health and dyadic clinical interventions
    • Preferred minimum 2 years post-graduate work in dyadic and family services in residential treatment program.
  • Comfortable with clinical documentation and navigation in data/EMR systems. Valid Hawaii Driver's License Required.

Salary Range depending on experience and education:

$50,000 - $52,000
