Summary / Primary Purpose : The Divisional Corps Development Specialist is responsible for cultivating and maximizing relationships with donors throughout their territory, with the goal of soliciting and increasing donations by following the Western Division Strategic Development Plan.
Serves as a fundraising consultant to Corps Officers within their territory. Partners with the Divisional Development team to carry out best practices, strategies, and initiatives for Corps communities in Nebraska, South Dakota and / or Iowa.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Primary responsibility will be partnering with local Corps Officers, their staff, and the Divisional Director of Corps Development on all fundraising activities - major gifts, grants, planned giving, corporate donations, online crowdfunding, and red kettles during Christmas.
Majority of work is conducted through email, phone calls, and virtual communications, with limited in-person meetings.
Document the funding needs in terms of real program costs, how dollars impact people, outcomes being (and which could be) achieved, shortfalls and exciting mission advancement opportunities.
Presents these opportunities to donors to effectively match donor interests with Army service delivery advancement needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities : None
Education and / or Experience : Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or related field and / or 3-5 years work-related experience, or a combination of training and experience.
Preferred work experience within a non-profit organization - fundraising, including prospect research, donor relations and solicitation.

Other Qualifications : Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside.
Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
