ColonialWebb is Hiring a Mechanical Piping Designer Near Richmond, VA
ColonialWebb is hiring a Mechanical Piping Designer that will be responsible for the design and coordination of mechanical piping hydronic and refrigerant systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical piping principles and the ability to apply this knowledge to complex commercialpiping systems.
What you will do:
- Coordinate and work efficiently and in accordance with plans and specifications, and ColonialWebb fabrication standards; advise the respective Project Manager as conflicts occur
- Document and provide marked-up submittals to Project Manager showing any modifications, or discrepancies related to inline duct and piping devices.
- Monitor and report to the respective Project Manager when coordination and detailing require work not indicated on the contract drawings.
- Attend job meetings as requested by the Project Manager
- Generate full coordination drawings and provide all necessary paperwork to complete the task.
- Provide clear, dimensional, and accurate drawings.
- Visit job sites as necessary to complete work assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What we are looking for:
- Ability to read and understand contract drawings, specs, and submittals.
- Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner
- Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with internal and external customers
- Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, but remain calm when handling emergencies
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand. Unscheduled overtime may be required, as necessary
- Possess field experience as a construction sheet metal mechanic or sheet metal foreman.
