Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, warm, reliable and dedicated individual to join our team in the infant/toddler classroom (part time or full time). You will play a vital role in educating and nurturing young children, fostering their growth and development. You will create a positive and engaging environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Cainhoy Children's Academy is a private, family owned preschool in the Cainhoy/Point Hope community near Daniel Island, and we have been open for 5 years now.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for children to explore, learn, and play
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and engagement
- Monitor and assess each child's progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for growth
- Collaborate with parents/guardians to ensure open communication and involvement in their child's education
- Maintain accurate records of each child's development, behavior, and attendance
- Promote positive behavior management techniques to create a respectful and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Previous experience working with infant-aged children in a childcare or educational setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports each child's unique needs
- Passion for working with young children and helping them reach their full potential
- Fully capable to have visual and hearing capabilities consistent with Child Licensing
