Director, Apparel MerchandisingWhat you will doAs Apparel Merchandising Director, you will collaborate cross functionally with global merchandising teams to consolidate an aligned seasonal regional range plan. Informed by consumer and marketplace insights, you will drive segmentation and distribution plans. You will communicate needs with global product management. You will own strategic franchise management plans and product lifecycles of said plans. Curate product assortments to drive full-price sales. Author TNF seasonal brand roadmap with global product and marketing teams. Thorough understanding of the product assortment to the P& L. Drive specific KPI’s to achieve targets (style count, productivity, regional adoption %, etc). You will lead a team of direct reports and cultivate high performing talent. You will ensure teams are clear on objectives and collaborate to ensure success. You will provide coaching and help others to achieve their best while motivating others to higher levels of achievement. You will influence others through persuasion, deliver relevant information with confidence, and built a strong network of relationships to deliver results.This role will be asked to lead with a first to market mindset and a passion for innovation, and the Apparel Merchandising Director will be relied on to ensure the value proposition of TNF Apparel Product Assortments is being upheld while maintaining brand DNA.How You Will Make a Difference:Lead and Deliver on a Product Merchandising strategy for Apparel Categories that drives growth and revenue in Direct to Consumer, Across Channel and within Accounts while also growing the shared global assortment between all regions.Build regional assortment plans in partnership w/ regional Planning.Reconcile assortment and line plans with regional merchandising financial plans at key milestones to ensure alignment.Develop high performing talent in direct reports. Inspire confidence across the brand, demonstrating expertise, consumer, and market.Gather market research and interpret opportunities (competitive analysis/comps shops) to align on seasonal opportunities. Drive Segmentation at Consumer, Category, Channel and Tier level to create necessary distinction for sustainable growth.Participate in the cross functional Go-To-Market work stream, ensuring seasonal vision is brought to life in store and online. Apply in-depth knowledge of consumer, marketplace, product, and competitor insights to provide long term vision and framework to seasonal line plans.Participate in business planning, targeting, and seasonal planning.Provide strategic direction, leadership, mentorship, and inspiration to a diverse team of product managers to deliver industry leading solutions.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement promoting professional growth and development of the team.Manage short, mid and long-term projects while providing regular updates to key stakeholders.Ensure clarity of written line plans and briefs reflect marketplace opportunities balanced with brand right business decisions.Ensure you and your team remain current with competitor product offerings, the global marketplace and consumer trends.Driving key initiatives to support the franchise management and 3-year planning.Champions a work environment that supports teamwork, inclusion, and respect.Develops management and leadership capabilities in others.What You Will Bring:A relevant bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience10 years of experience in apparel as a business leader with major business driving functions including product management, merchandising, or product development5 years management experience and success w/ cross functional partnerships.Deep performance, active and/ or outdoor industry knowledge, being able to act as a market expert for the business.Strong business acumen and understanding of financial metrics and profitability analysis.You have a strong instinct and passion for product, blending art and science with a consumer centric approach to decision makingExcellent collaboration skills, including a proven ability to communicate with various levels of management and employees within the organizationYou must be able to lead and influence others and be comfortable presenting in front of large groups of peopleStrong ability to inspire and build a mindset and culture of innovation within your team and beyond. Strategic w/ proven ability to grow a category and bring big ideas to market.Proven skills in selecting talent and developing others.Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to work with others as part of cross-functional team, build consensus, and achieve results across a variety of distinct groups.Experience product forecasting, statistical modeling and/or strategic planning Experience in retail sales analysis and interpretation of data to identify opportunities.
