Under the supervision of the Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing, this position will lead the day-to-day execution of the school’s social media communications and support a variety of other marketing and graphic design initiatives.
Responsibilities:
· Research, develop, compose, and post content on the school’s owned digital/social media channels on a daily basis.
· Daily posts should be written in coherent, compelling English – without need for oversight or revisions – in a way that advances broader school messaging objectives.
· Take clean, “press-ready” photographs and iPhone video snippets – editing both photography and videography as needed – for use on social media and other platforms.
· Proactively plan for daily social media posts through the development of a social media / editorial calendar – shared in advance with Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing – and aligned with the school’s broader strategic marketing initiatives.
· Proactively engage school students, faculty, and other stakeholders on an ongoing basis to develop robust queue of content ideas / stories for development on social media.
· Conduct ongoing research on the school’s noteworthy academic and extracurricular achievements, student clubs, philanthropic engagement in the community, and other topics of interest in order to populate social media content and other marketing platforms.
· Update the “News” section on the school’s website on a frequent (at least weekly) basis – including writing the news entries in coherent, compelling English – by adapting social media content and other marketing content as needed.
· Make other periodic adjustments to the school’s website, including developing headlines and copy highlighting key school programs.
· Lay out text, photography, and video content on school’s website on an as-needed basis, using HTML when applicable.
· Proactively liaise with key school stakeholders – including Student Council, College Counseling, and other departments – to assess needs for, and help produce, select digital and printed collateral pieces.
· Support the school’s digital marketing initiatives on Google, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and other platforms.
· Support content development for the production of the school’s communication materials, advertising campaigns, invitations, annual report, etc.
· Support the school’s Graphic Design Specialist in the design, layout, and production of select digital and print collateral pieces.
· Take lead role in the design and production of internal-facing collateral pieces, including school flyers and other assets – making sure to adhere to school’s branding guidelines.
· Liaise with key school stakeholders to ensure awareness of, and adherence to, school’s branding guidelines.
· Liaise with the school’s Graphic Design Specialist and outside print vendors to ensure printed collateral pieces adhere to school’s branding guidelines.
· Track and analyze Google Analytics and other relevant digital tracking tools and make appropriate recommendations based on findings in an effort to increase traffic and SEO standing.
· Work closely with outside vendors to obtain quotes and invoices, while also filling out related purchase orders.
· Ensure clear and transparent communication between and amongst all internal constituencies, including staff and faculty.
· Participate in professional development in order to stay current in best practices and marketing trends for independent schools.
Requirements:
· 3-5 years proven experience in managing and composing content for a professional organization’s social media account.
· 3-5 years proven experience in supporting a professional organization’s graphic design and digital marketing initiatives.
· BS/BA in business administration, marketing, communications, or graphic design field preferred.
· Prior experience in Education a plus.
· Adept in using InDesign, Illustrator, and Canva.
· Adept in using basic video editing software / tools.
· Familiarity with HTML.
· Familiarity with Constant Contact, Blackbaud, and other email marketing platforms.
· Knowledgeable with web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, WebTrends) and Google Adwords.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and writing skills.
· Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary Range $60,000-$75,000 DOE
