We are currently seeking a person who identifies strongly with our mission and core values to join our team in Seattle as a Press Brake Operator II. This is an ideal role for someone who has 1 year or more of press brake operating experience , b asic knowledge of manufacturing geometry and math skills, such as decimals and fractions, and who enjoys working independently with precision measuring tools.
Purpose:
Utilize current knowledge, skills and abilities to set-up and operate press brake machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
Responsibilities:
  • Determines dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece and set-up requirements from work orders, blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications, templates or verbal instructions.
  • Use a variety precision measuring tools such as calipers, protractor, square and height gauges.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials on press brake machines.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate manufacturing factors of forming speed, depth, back gauge and production rate.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance or defective production, and adjusts machine controls as required.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of settings.
  • Independently selects and loads appropriate program.
  • Ability to detect problems on machines and programs.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications per SOP set forth in our BMS.
  • Confers with lead or supervisor to resolve machining problems.
  • Mentor employees in the machining profession with the willingness to further their education in technological advances as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensures the adherence to company safety and health standards, policies and procedures by monitoring personnel, machinery and work environment.
  • Immediately notify supervisor and/or Safety Manager of any safety and health concerns and problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • At least 1 years of press brake experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand policies, procedures and carry-out instructions and clearly give feedback and information to manufacturing personnel.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing geometry and math skills, such as decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Outlook preferred.
  • Independent, accurate use of precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to analyze and manipulate programs.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate standard, materials and tools.
  • Familiarity with assigned machinery and their individual parts in assigned area.
  • Understanding of work orders, blueprints, tooling and department workflow.
  • Working knowledge of quality system concepts and procedures.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Stand up to 8 hours, with standard rest-periods.
  • Ability to perform work assignments requiring repetitive motion.
  • Ability to work schedule as assigned.
