Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

  • Ensure the safe repair and rebuild of production equipment and support systems to maximize quality, uptime, rate and yield.
  • Perform duties in accordance with company safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
  • Perform maintenance in all areas of the Plant including industrial electrical control systems, power systems, AC and DC electronic speed control drives, gearbox and mill rebuilds, annealing furnace repair, mechanical trouble shooting and crane repair.
  • Trouble shooting of Programmable Logic Controls, motors, drives and relays.
  • Perform Preventive & Predictive maintenance on mechanical electrical equipment which includes ordering electrical parts per specifications.
  • Adhere to safe work practices in accordance with OSHA and Company safety policies & procedures such as LOTO & Arc Flash.
  • Prepare various reports.
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule
  • Responsible for special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The ideal candidate for the Electrician position will possess an Associates Degree or electrician certification, and 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Prior tube manufacturing experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, and/or in a team environment.
  • Detailed orientated, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and available to work rotating shifts including weekend and OT.
  • Display a positive attitude towards your work and maintain positive working relationship with others.
  • Mechanical aptitude necessary for fulfillment of job requirements.
  • Must be able to interface with computers and efficient at problem solving.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The information below outlines the aggregated physical demands of all positions within the Birmingham, AL Facility. All shop floor job positions and tasks were considered to determine and objectively quantify the physical and cognitive demands that each Blytheville teammate requires to successfully carry out their duties and responsibilities.

In addition to physical capabilities, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and required equipment that may require to be operated is also included. These factors should be considered when determining physical capabilities as well as cognitive competence.

PPE REQUIREMENTS:

The following personal protective equipment and clothing may be required to be worn continuously by some/all job positions.

  • Enhanced visibility work uniforms
  • Various types of eye protection (Safety glasses, goggles, etc.)
  • Head protection such as hard hats or climbing helmets
  • Fall arrest harness
  • Hearing protection (standard and/or custom ear plugs)
  • Foot protection (Steel toed footwear that may include metatarsal protection)
  • Respiratory protection (dust masks and/or respirators)
  • Welding helmet
  • Welding attire
  • Various types of face shields

MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT:

The following machinery and equipment may be required to be operated by teammates frequently constantly.

  • Various hand tools
  • Overhead cranes
  • Various types of forklifts, industrial trucks, and elevated work platforms
  • Various types of heavy machinery
  • Welding and Cutting Equipment
