Job Description
Business Support Specialist/Coordinator - Decatur, IL
ADM is one of the world's largest corn processors and wheat millers. Our team is an integrated part of our Carbohydrate Solutions division which converts corn and wheat into sweeteners, starches, proteins, flours and bakery ingredients for food, feed, paper-making, corrugated board and building products.
This role is part of the Product Management team and reports to the Starch Product Director. The main role of the Business Support Coordinator is to support product management on forecasting, demand management, and contract compliance. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to manage the day to day business, capture market insight to provide market intelligence reporting, and provides analysis on sales activities including Salesforce pipeline. The Business Support Coordinator will also support the implementation of an integrated business plan in order to drive the business strategy. This role offers exposure to Product Management while providing business operations and analytical support. The candidate should have a strong desire to grow and develop into other commercial roles.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Gather relevant market insight to support the product director in decision making process and pricing analysis.
  • Identify and understand key drivers for markets and use this information to maximize product value.
  • Oversee the development of the Starch business analytics capabilities.
  • Perform competitive intelligence analysis.
  • Provide leadership to drive key performance metrics for strategic accounts and collaborative efforts inside ADM, managing all phases for implementation.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Create dashboards in Salesforce and Power BI
  • Provide timely communication and follow through for key starch account concerns.
  • Provide regular reports relative to the contract execution and shipment review.
  • Support sales efforts by providing product information and addressing specific customer needs.
  • Prepare, submit, and monitor daily and ad hoc reports.
  • Lead the production planning and inventory management for packing and warehousing locations.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in, business, finance or related field is required with a minimum of 3 years related work experience.
  • Experience in business analytics.
  • A proven ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with people at all levels inside and outside of the organization
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey market information to both technical and commercial teams
  • Advanced MS Excel level of skills
  • Salesforce knowledge
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau are a strong asset
  • Independent decision making and problem solving skills with the ability to develop solutions in a logical and systematic way.
  • Excellent communication skills emphasizing listening, writing, and speaking clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and flexibility to adjust.
