Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic III – 3rd Shift

The Role …

In this multi-skilled position, you will perform complex tasks for the maintenance of the facility and all manufacturing equipment, as well as troubleshoot and repair all packaging equipment. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing and maintaining required work orders, leading projects and providing assistance to team members. 

This is a 3rd shift position, working a Monday-Friday schedule, located in our Pleasant Plain, OH manufacturing facility.

Your Responsibilities …

  • Inspect production equipment for defects, misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication and determine best process for making repairs with limited interruption to production
  • Diagnose and repair complex production equipment control circuits
  • Develop and improve preventative maintenance program for all production equipment
  • Creation of sketches and plans for the replacement, substitution or improvement of equipment to suit unique production requirements
  • Fabricate custom machine parts with or without engineering drawings
  • Perform rigging, installation and startup of new equipment and production departments
  • Train, mentor and assist Level I and II Maintenance Mechanics
  • Troubleshoot and repair low (24VDC) and high (480VAC) voltage electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair production and utility equipment in accordance with factory specifications
  • Ensure all equipment is well maintained and in good operating condition
  • Preform complex rebuilds of broken/damaged equipment and sub-assemblies and replace parts in accordance with specifications
  • Perform complex fabrication for the modification and repair of production equipment
  • Complete work orders in CMMS using a tablet, list materials issued and used, and complete necessary documentation; update equipment maintenance records and maintain appropriate spare parts inventory levels
  • Work as an integral part of the Kaizen teams to execute continuous improvement projects

Requirements

You Need to Have …

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Trade school certification in mechanical/electrical maintenance technologies required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial CPG maintenance environment with highly automated equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues on automated equipment (troubleshooting of PLC, low voltage sensors, machine re-timing, root cause analysis of issues with packing equipment and components, part/tooling redesign, etc.) 
  • Advanced level electrical skills including the ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for complex control systems
  • Advanced level machining, welding and fabrication skills (able to fabricate precision parts and assemblies with or without engineering drawings using manual mill, lathe, TIG and MIG welder) 
  • Prior rigging and equipment installation experience
