Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Back End Software Engineer III with 4-8 or more years of experience, to join our DECIMATE Dreamcatcher team. Dreamcatcher is weapons pairing optimization application. As a member of the team, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and APIs of our software applications. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in programming languages, and a good understanding of backend technologies and best practices.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement server-side logic for our software applications. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using appropriate programming languages and frameworks.
  • Create and maintain APIs (e.g., REST APIs, microservices, etc.). Ensure APIs are well-documented, secure, and adhere to industry standards.
  • Design, implement, and manage databases that store and retrieve data efficiently. Optimize database queries, manage data migrations, and ensure data integrity.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks, latency issues, and other performance-related challenges in the backend systems. Optimize code, queries, and configurations to ensure optimal application speed and responsiveness.
  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with security standards. Use encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms to access/secure resources.
  • Develop and implement testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing. Ensure code quality, stability, and reliability through rigorous testing.
  • Investigate and resolve backend-related issues and bugs reported by users or discovered during testing. Implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate closely with other developers, product managers, and other team members to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver integrated solutions.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline (e.g. Software Engineering, Computer Engineering)
  • Four to eight (4-8 ) plus years of professional experience involving Software Design, Development, Test, and Evaluation
  • Proficient with Java or Python
  • Experience with developing APIs or REST services and interfacing with external APIs
  • Experience with designing and interfacing with databases (Postgres, NoSQL, etc.)
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems
  • An existing US Security Clearance (SECRET or above).
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiar with XmlPath and JsonPath
  • Experience with Scripting and Deployment Languages (Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Experience with Docker, OpenShift, and Helm
Travel Requirements:
  • Quarterly TEMs held in San Diego, CA
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is $120,000 to $175,000 annually. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
