Are you interested in seeing the process of creating makeup from the ground up? From ingredients to colors to customer education, our Makeup Designer and Event Assistant will be involved in the entire process of helping customers create products they love.

This means you would be working with a wide range of people to find the perfect color and product for their lifestyle, then creating and adjusting it in real time with their input. Our process helps reduce the overwhelm of big box cosmetic retailers in order that our customers walk away with exactly what makes them feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. Our perfect candidate will have an appreciation for many styles and the vision to help others express their own unique version of it.

When not face to face with one of our customers, you will oversee the maintenance of the retail and workshop spaces by keeping them clean and tidy, tools sanitized, products well stocked, and set up for appointments, parties, workshops, and events, then finally reset after our customers have had a great time making a mess at Mix! In addition, you will be in charge of fulfilling online orders and maintaining inventory and supply lists so that we always have enough products on hand, and the ingredients to make them. We are committed to the reuse and recycling of as much of our waste as possible! You will also be the head of our sanitization program, giving us the capacity to continue to offer our customers and ourselves a way to reduce beauty waste for the products we make. And when needed, you will also be able to join in on the production of our good for you, nourishing, plant based skincare! Success in this position requires lots of flexibility, initiative, and collaboration within our team.

On a regular basis, you will also have the privilege of guiding individuals and groups through one of our fun and messy workshops! These classes allow participants to learn about ingredients and the processes required to make their own products, and the opportunity to play with scents, colors, and beneficial additives for their own perfectly custom creation. An excitement for coaching others toward healthy options and drawing out their own preferences with insightful questions will be most beneficial in this capacity.

Whether you're one on one with a customer, hosting a group, making product, or learning something new, we want you to share the experience with our loyal followers! Each of our team members are counted on for contributing to our social media content on a weekly basis, curating information, pictures, videos, and ideas. If you have training and/or professional experience in social media marketing, this is a huge plus!

While previous experience is not required, the ideal candidate should have:

• An eye for design and color
• An appreciation for cosmetics and skincare
• A commitment to all natural, plant based products
• An innate curiosity and propensity for learning new things
• Friendliness and a natural ability to make conversation with people of differing personalities, lifestyles, preferences, and age groups
• Experience with social media marketing and content creation
• Availability on weekends is a must
