The Crossing Church is Hiring a Graphic Designer Near Chesterfield, MO

Our church...is a non-denominational multi-site church with four St. Louis-area campuses where we gather each weekend to study this ancient story found in Scripture that is still transforming lives today. We believe church should be a place where believers in Jesus and skeptics can stand side-by-side to study truth and ask tough questions. We blend teaching and worship with art and technology to create a service where you can experience the message of Jesus in practical and life-changing ways.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER...works with the Creative Team to conceptualize and create original and adapted visual print/web/digital support in unity with the vision and brand of The Crossing. This Graphic Designer will bring exceptional concepts and designs that are equally relative and fresh regularly. This position supports the weekend services and all other ministries of the church. The ideal candidate for this position is a professional with the right balance of creativity and technical ability, as well as the ability to maintain brand consistency.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provide original and adapted print/digital/web support for weekend experiences and other ministry areas of the church from inception to completion
  • Assist the Creative Communications team in maintaining The Crossing’s brand across the ministries and needs of the church
  • Identify new ways to communicate the gospel through profound design
  • Production work including production of final designs for print/web based on the creative concept while maintaining the integrity of the original concept
  • Review digital proofs for overall accuracy, clarity, content, registration, and color
  • Typesetting copy, laying out pages, organizing digital files for out put
  • Create mockups as needed; print, cut, mount posters/signs
  • Communicate and maintain relationships with print reps, printers and suppliers, ensuring quality and timely delivery of final product
  • Actively participate in weekly brainstorming and team meetings

WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Minimum of five to seven years progressive graphic design experience
  • Solid digital design portfolio that demonstrates a broad range of conceptual thinking and an ability to define the look and feel for integrated experiences
  • Exceptional in brand development, design, layout, typography, and most recent design software
  • Experience designing for events/experiences preferred
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, refined presentation skills, good listener
  • Comfortable giving and receiving constructive criticism
  • Enthusiastic about developing skills and abilities; life-long learner, resourceful, continually
    growing practical knowledge in all fields related to Creative
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Humble, experienced leader with solid work ethic
  • Works well under pressure; has the ability to think and respond quickly maintaining close
    attention to detail
  • Creative problem solver, enthusiastic about trying new ideas and pushing the design envelope, not afraid to think outside of the box
  • Effective time management, promptness
  • Flexible, teachable team player with ability to influence and inspire others to reach goals
  • Self-directed, dependable, and reliable
  • Must have a can-do attitude and a sense of humor
  • A passion for the arts that will impact lives for the kingdom of Christ

  • Baptized after making the thoughtful decision to follow Christ
  • Regard the Bible as God’s final authority in all areas of Christian life and desire to be wholly obedient to it
  • Wholeheartedly affirm The Crossing’s Statement of Faith, including our view on Baptism
  • Live a lifestyle consistent with scriptural principles
