We're seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our client's team bringing some personality to the world of numbers and spreadsheets.

As a Staff Accountant for our award-winning mid-cities area healthcare consulting firm, you'll be the financial wizard responsible for managing the numbers that aids in helping their organization thrive.

Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller with a dotted line to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll be the key to the solutions behind their financial data and records. But this isn't your typical accounting gig – it's a chance to make numbers dance.

Your Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare complex fiscal reports, turning raw data into monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
2. Be the star of the show during the monthly closing process and annual audit process.
3. Join the financial planning process by helping prepare the annual budget for various departments and programs.
4. Be part of the orchestra for the annual & single audit, and dazzle with your schedule preparations.
5. Shine on stage during site & desk audits, ensuring all responses are show-stopping before submission.
6. Keep the rhythm of effective internal controls alive and kicking.
7. Create captivating Grant Reports (monthly/quarterly/annually) for Mental Health Federal, State, and Local Grants and contracts. Ensure these reports are filed promptly and accurately, resolving any financial mysteries along the way.
8. Create monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, using your GAAP expertise to ensure financial statements are pitch-perfect.
9. Star in the monthly Cash Flow Forecasts and Cash Flow Projections, maintaining the records for funds drawn, disbursed, and deposited.
10. Rock the stage with monthly bank account reconciliations and journal entries
11. Take on thrilling Special Projects that will keep you on your toes.
12. Keep the accounting documents and reports in the spotlight, filing, maintaining, and distributing them like a pro.

Your Credentials:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting - This is a MUST
• 2 years of experience as a financial virtuoso, including general ledger, payroll, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Bonus points for experience with mid-market accounting software, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and federal grants.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced users, you're our rockstars!).
