Reporting to the EI Program Administrator. The Speech and Language Therapist is responsible for providing speech therapy services in early care or education settings to eligible children in various sites within the City of Pittsburgh.
Salary
Starting Salary of $43,881

FLSA Non- Exempt
Qualifications
Along with the proper certification, the highest priority and preference will be given to candidates who possess experience providing Early Intervention services, especially in inclusive settings. The applicant must possess the following skills: strong understanding of Special Education regulations, be able to travel throughout the city if itinerant, computer literacy, strong interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills for handling a high volume of job related tasks in a very busy environment, excellent written and oral communication.

Essential Job Functions
1. Provides therapy to students? ages 3-5 years old in a variety of settings, in accordance with their IEP.

2. Attends and participates in team meetings. Conducts ER/IEP meetings.

3. Administers standardized testing instruments to screen and evaluate students.

4. Enters student information into the state and local data system.

5. Understands state and federal regulations that govern Early Intervention & Special Education.

6. Maintain special education timelines for evaluation and service delivery.

7. Maintains progress monitoring data to share with families and administrators.

8. Writes evaluations reports, re-evaluation reports and IEP?s.

9. Completes MA billing monthly.

10. Provides a safe environment for the students; manages student behavior appropriately.

11. Assists families with transition to kindergarten activities.

12. Completes daily session notes to share with families.

13. Collaborates with parents, staff, and outside professionals.

14. Participates in staff meetings and professional development training.

15. Additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by EI administration.
