WELCOME TO BUONA! We are the restaurant whose literal foundation was dug by Joe Buonavolanto Sr. in Berwyn, IL, 1981, and has since expanded significantly. With 20+ locations, we are now officially the largest, family-owned and operated restaurant in greater Chicago! So, whats the story? Joe Buonavolanto Sr. and his wife, Peggy, dreamt of opening their own restaurant to share their families recipes, rooted from Italy and passed down from generation to generation. To make the dream happen, they took out a second mortgage and got to work. And well, the rest is history! Now, for nearly 40 years, ...weve fed millions of Chicagoans our perfected, traditional, family recipes, ranging from, none other than our world famous, award winning "Buona" Italian Beef sandwich, to our Chicago-style hot dogs, pizza, and more. With gravy in our veins and beef on our minds, there's nothing we do that isn't coming from a place of passion or love.
