Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Baker - Pastry Cook to join our team in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented, and professional kitchen. The ideal candidate must have a pleasant can-do attitude, especially when under pressure, and work at a fast pace with attention to safety and basic knife skills. They must have a strong understanding of basic kitchen equipment and be well-versed in a la carte food preparation. The Baker must have the capability to set up a station with limited supervision with a high level of expertise.

Responsibilities:

* Preparing food in a timely, consistent fashion to exact standards following established recipes, plating, food receiving/storage, and proper handling of all food items.

* Ensuring impeccable standards of kitchen cleanliness and food handling as outlined in HACCP, maintaining a methodically organized workstation and food production.

* Must be willing to work AM or PM shifts including working holidays and weekends.

* Having a pleasant can-do attitude, especially when under pressure.

* Working at a fast pace with attention to safety and basic knife skills.

* Having a strong understanding of basic kitchen equipment.

* Setting up a station with limited supervision with a high level of expertise.

* Communicating concerns and suggestions openly and honestly and taking constructive feedback in a non-defensive manner.

* Being open and willing to learn in the spirit of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

* At least 2 years of experience as a pastry cook in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented and professional kitchen.

* Must be willing to work AM or PM shifts including working holidays and weekends.

* Knowledge of a la carte food preparation and plating.

* Strong understanding of basic kitchen equipment.

* Attention to safety and basic knife skills.

* Ability to set up a station with limited supervision with a high level of expertise.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to take constructive feedback in a non-defensive manner.

* The willingness to learn in the spirit of continuous improvement.
