Full-time - PACU RN – Day Shift with Call

Position Summary

Prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care provided throughout perianesthesia continuum of care—preanesthesia, post anesthesia Phase I, Phase II, and extended care. Responsible for meeting all standards associated with performance, nursing practice, nursing care and hospital policies. Patients receive perianesthesia nursing care based on a documented assessment of their needs by a competent nursing staff.

Essential Functions

• Collaborates and effectively communicates with surgeons, anesthesia and staff to promote patient safety.
• Analyzes information, develops and implements plan of care, evaluates results and make adjustments as needed.
• Integrates experience and critical thinking skills to ensure safe medication delivery.
• Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure holistic patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Participates in quality improvement activities through identifying, implementing and monitoring process changes.
• Assists anesthesia with regional blocks.
• Documents patient care reflecting the patient condition and the care provided.

Position Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio.
• Previous experience preferred but not required.
• Able to work weekends, holidays and take call time as required.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
