The Arc of Centre County is currently recruiting several Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work alongside adults with disabilities in their homes and communities. DSPs can truly make a difference in the lives of the people the support - these are truly rewarding careers.
In-Home and Community Supports meets an absolutely critical need for individuals and families in our community. Through the provision of this 1:1 service, individuals acquire, maintain, and/or improve upon the skills necessary to live in the community, to live more independently, or to be more productive and participatory in community life. Services consist of support in the general areas of communication, health maintenance, money management, relationship development, meal preparation, and the use of community resources.
Full-time DSPs in this department typically work most of their scheduled hours Monday-Friday, although occasional weekends are required.
These positions are eligible for a complete benefit package to include healthcare, vision, dental, short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, retirement, and an amazing 32 days of paid-time off!

The Arc of Centre County is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Arc was started in 1953 by a group of concerned parents. The chapter has grown to serve persons with an intellectual disability across the lifespan and throughout the county. All of The Arc's efforts are geared towards ensuring the rights of persons with an intellectual disability, supporting their families, and helping each person reach his or her personal best, through an array of community services. Services primarily offered by The Arc include Community L...iving Arrangements, Home-Based Waivers and Supportive Employment Services. The Arc's mission is to enhance the lives of all persons with an intellectual disability and their families, and to provide the highest quality of service in the least restrictive environment. Each individual will fully participate in choosing and purchasing services. The Arc is a member agency of the Centre County United Way; The Arc is also funded in part under an Agreement with Centre County through Centre County Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities/Early Intervention-Drug and Alcohol Program Office and other various sources.
