Job Summary

We are searching for a Technical Applications Advisor -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will develop, analyze and advise IDS and/or IS staff on technical solutions as they apply to applications across the IDS. You will also review and provide advice on application requirements, application and processing architectures and designs. This role also develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies application and system design of Integrated Delivery Systems. The Technical Applications Advisor is also responsible for the identification and resolution of the application information flow, the application integration and the required infrastructure needed to support application requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and coordinates designing of new & existing applications and architectures of Integrated Delivery System systems
• Coordinate new development and make sure it is consistent and well-integrated with existing information data structure
• Appraises effectiveness of systems flow, data usage, and manual or automated processes to identify ineffectiveness or inefficiency of the system
• Identifies and recommend tools and technologies using best practices/industry standards to support strategic direction and to assist in deploying appropriately business initiatives
• Identifies alternative ways to utilize the application & technologies for projects that are impacted by performance and/or business issues
• Coordinates activities and information dissemination with manager, other Information Services personnel, users, and vendors
• Leads development and maintenance programming activities with management, other Information Services personnel, users, or vendors during all phases of the system life cycle
• Develops system documentation and training
• Prepares documentation concerning program and configuration issues, bugs, and resolutions in compliance with standards

Qualifications

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

• Advanced knowledge and experience with VMware Horizon and it’s components.

• High school diploma or GED and 10 years major system design and implementation experience required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Project management or project leadership experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree will substitute four years of work experience
• Master’s degree will substitute for additional two years of work experience
