Tesla's Gigafactory Nevada is looking for a highly skilled andmotivated New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering Technician who will beresponsible for ensuring a seamless launch of the newest Energy products andsub-components.

• The NPI Engineering Technician will be responsible for preparing materials and tools for performing NPI builds, trialing new materials, and maintaining the various NPI core functions to a high standard.
• This person is expected to be able to execute efficiently against provided instructions, self-validate work for accuracy, check the quality of previous operations, and meet critical deadlines.
• The NPI Engineering Technician shall have the capacity to be able to provide constructive feedback, define/iterate standard work, and suggest process improvements.
• The NPI Engineering technician will also support field investigations, instrumented/non-Plan of Record builds, and unique projects in support of our cross-functional teams.
• This role includes hands-on product build validation, collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure factory and line readiness as well as ensuring critical timelines are met through effective execution of key milestones.
• Experience with hand tools, machine tools, and use of semi-automated and automated manufacturing equipment is necessary. Significant experience in (1) or more - electrical, automotive, energy and/or mechanical areas is a plus.

• Support Engineering teams in early prototyping product phases andprovide iterative feedback toward continuous product improvement objectives toensure program success

• Possess a quick and flexible approach to problem solving, taskjuggling, and collaboration

• Responsible for high quality activities, includingself-inspection, and thorough inspection of the process in its entirety

• Be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously,interacting with multiple teams and conducting decisions to solve prioritytasks

• Updates production records and test results, records processimprovements, and manufacturability suggestions

• Communicates test results, ideas, and problems to supervisor andengineers; able to be part of the solution

• Identify discrepant materials/components both in writing andverbally to supervisor

• Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and withinstandard times and maintain a clean and orderly work area

• Possess an understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM)

• Environment, health, and safetyconsidered in all activities and manufacturing validations

• Typically involves a variety of operations (includingtroubleshooting and rework) requiring a sufficient understanding of thefunctional operation of the items assembled as well as the finished product

• Perform varying degrees (basic to complex) of electro-mechanicalassembly work and be able to work independently once a task is assigned, makeconnections with other employees, and work fluidly with the team to achievegreat results

• Support trials of new parts and materials to ensure seamlessproduction implementation

• Support the NPI team during all phases of product introduction(launch and sustaining)
