Associate Scientist, Cell Therapy

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join BioNTech's Center of Excellence in Cell & Gene Therapy Research, Process & Analytical Development and Manufacturing facility in Gaithersburg, MD. You will be part of the multi-disciplinary Research team focused on developing personalized TCR-T cell therapies targeting solid tumors.

Responsibilities:

* Establish and validate a workflow for processing and collecting TILs and tumor cells from clinically relevant patient material.

* Support the Materials Processing team by executing experiments for tissue processing and execute tumor culture protocols for T cell validation efforts.

* Contribute towards new technology development of tumor processing.

* Support collaborative efforts across multiple functional teams.

* Record experimental procedures and results in an ELN and disseminate/present findings to the rest of the team in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's in Science with 5-8 years of experience, Master's degree in Science with 3-5 years of experience, or PhD with 0-3 years of industry experience (Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, or closely related field)

* Experience with aseptic cell culture technique and assay development

* Experience with tissue processing and cell isolation

* Experience with oncology or immuno-oncology research

* Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

* Excellent verbal/written communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

* Multicolor flow cytometry proficiency and flow sorting experience

* An understanding of T cell biology and TCR-T cell therapy
