Responsibilities:
- Maintain a deep understanding of facility projects as related to EHS and knowledgeable of safety systems (gas, water, liquid chemical delivery systems) to provide support for these projects.
- Lead detailed process and system hazard analysis and risk assessments.
- Perform comprehensive analysis and develop expertise in regulatory and industry safety codes, such as OSHA, NFPA, NEC, SEMI, and ANSI.
- Take the lead in “Pre-Start up Safety Reviews” for new equipment and system installations.
- Cultivate internal and external customer relationships that drive implementation of safety systems or improvements that promote a “Process Safety Culture.”
- Proactively meet with factory engineers to fully understand new equipment and design modifications prior to installation.
- Conduct incident investigations using root cause analysis to drive system improvements.
- Perform PPE, industrial hygiene, ergonomic and other risk assessments, make recommendations and report on results.
- Conduct EHS training including, but not limited to: qualified electrical worker, fall protection, chemical safety, control of hazardous energies and emergency response.
- Review and update EHS policies, procedures and best known methods (BKMs) throughout the organization.
- Provide safety coaching for employees and leadership for safety activities and initiatives.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in EHS and a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, chemistry, safety, biology, industrial hygiene, or closely related field.
- Strong preference for Process Safety or EHS experience at a semiconductor manufacturing facility or other chemical intensive industry.
- CPE, CSP, CIH certification is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in federal, state, local and industry regulations.
- Must have the ability to work independently and have excellent interpersonal communication and written skills.
- Dependable, stable under pressure and can easily adapt to change.
