DENTAL HYGIENIST

Position Title: Dental Hygienist

Location: Shreveport Job Corps Center

The Dental Hygienist position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.

Summary of Duties:

The Dental Hygienist is responsible for assisting the dentist in planning, implementing, and evaluating Oral Health and Wellness program consistent with student’s needs and Job Corps’ goals and objectives.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

• Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures confidentiality and no manipulation of student information/data.

• Ensures proper documentation and accountability of student’s medical records.
• Perform preliminary oral examination.
• Perform bitewing and periodical X-Rays,
• Perform prophies, scale and root plane,
• Provide oral hygiene instructions including chair-side counseling on brushing, flossing and nutrition.

Credentials:

Education and Experience

High School Diploma and State license/certification.
