Task Management is currently looking for a Research & Development Manager.

Summary

The R&D Manager for bars will be responsible for leading the team through bench-top to commercialization of new products, continuous improvement, and cost savings with direct responsibility for the bar category. The manager is responsible for serving as the technical lead for bars during stage gate processes, team planning, project prioritization, staffing, evaluation, and utilization of technical knowledge for development of direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Passionate product developer background that will lead, motivate, and assist R&D team in the technical aspects of product development through the investigation, planning, execution, evaluation and reporting on new product development, continuous improvement, and cost savings projects
• Challenge the status quo and partner with cross-functional teams to identify gaps and develop new processes and procedures that ensure product development efforts are effective and utilize a “design-to-manufacture” approach
• Create an innovative environment by collaborating with external and internal partners and by managing the group with passion, intellectual curiosity, integrity, and trust
• Independently investigate and identify significant new formulations, process improvements, and cost savings projects
• Product development/management experience in the nutrition bar category.

Qualifications

• 10 years experience in Food Product Development including 5 years managing a team of 2 or more team members
• Product development experience in the nutrition bar category.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to effectively communicate to customers and all levels of the business
• Ability to lead and influence decisions to drive business goals and make complex decisions.
• Strong organizational skills, technical & problem-solving skills, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to be persuasive and assertive while also being collaborative
• Bachelor’s Degree Required: Food Science or related field, Master’s Degree Preferred: Food Science, MBA or related field
• Travel up to 25% of the time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
