Job Details:
We are seeking a Permanent Litigation Associate OR Of Counsel with a strong focus on Wage & Hour disputes to join our dynamic Wage and Hour Litigation team. This position is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned attorney with a passion for wage and hour litigation, and a desire to provide exceptional legal counsel to our diverse clientele. The successful candidate will be a key player in our firm, handling complex wage and hour disputes, and ensuring that our clients receive the best legal representation possible.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Litigation Associate (Wage & Hour), your main responsibilities will include:
1. Representing clients in wage and hour disputes, including class and collective action claims.
2. Interpreting and applying the Wage Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, and U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division regulations.
3. Drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery requests.
4. Taking and defending depositions.
5. Developing and executing litigation strategies in collaboration with other team members.
6. Providing clients with regular updates on case progress and advising them on potential legal risks and strategies.
7. Maintaining current knowledge of changes in wage and hour laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Litigation Associate (Wage & Hour) position should possess the following qualifications:
A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials.
2. Admission to the Colorado Bar required.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in wage and hour litigation, including experience with class and collective action claims.
4. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Wage Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, and U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division regulations.
5. Proficiency in drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery requests.
6. Proven experience in taking and defending depositions.
7. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues efficiently.
9. Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines.
10. High ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with clients, colleagues, and the court.
