This person is a qualified individual and is responsible for operating industrial equipment and forklift trucks to perform all material handling assignments. Identify and transport material to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, into trailers.

• This is a 40 hour week position, with the opportunity of overtime.
• Shift differential is $1.25.
• Review all pertinent SOPs and is a QI (Qualified Individual) for the position
• Performs operation and safety checks on equipment before use.
• Familiarizes self with productive capacity of machines or loading schedule of shipping services to assure prompt delivery of required items to proper destination, so that equipment does not shut down.
• Uses snips to open loads, removes strapping and wrapping and safely disposes in designated containers and areas. Places protective materials around load and uses hand or automatic strapping equipment to secure loads for final shipment to customers.
• Removes empty skids and stacks skids in designated areas.
• Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull, load, and move merchandise and all documents specific to each type of merchandise.
• Completes cleaning duties at the end of designated shift
• Completes safety check on equipment prior to usage including but not limited to battery, brakes, lift controls, and computer.
• Moves or lifts up to 75 lbs.
• Required to operate labeling equipment when needed
• Required to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts etc.
• Perform other duties as required or directed.
• Must be able to meet production standards of quota required
• Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
• Strive to be a safety solutions leader by maintaining the 200% for safety mindset. Participate engagement activities, complete required safety training and aid in identifying hazards within the facility utilizing BBS and Safety Monitor programs
• Participates in activities related to Marzetti Operational Excellence

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous job experience as a forklift operator preferred.
• Experience in the distribution industry a plus.
• Familiarity with warehouse and/or distribution facility.
• Team player
• Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic knowledge of computer functions on a keyboard.

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 40 - 50 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more at various frequencies and or intervals. Must be able to stand for an 8 10 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive tasks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee may be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment. The noise level is loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.

Physical Requirements: This position requires good hand/eye coordination and motor functions for computer keyboards, driving forklifts etc. This position requires standing - 98% of shift, lifting/bending - 50%, working in 35? environment - 75 % and walking - 25% of shift. The individual that possesses this position must have basic reading, writing and mathematics skills. Must be able to lift/pick 2375 cases per shift (average weight 15 lbs. per case). Position requires a high degree of attention to prevent injuries to others.
