Syracuse University is Hiring an Admissions Coordinator Near Syracuse, NY

Job DescriptionThis is a student-facing administrative position and serves as the initial contact for prospective students and their families via telephone, email, and in-person visits. The ECS Admissions Coordinator will be responsible for a full range of duties in support of undergraduate and graduate admissions and enrollment including administrative and logistics support for event planning, including an annual ECS Open House and other recruiting activities. Monitor and reconcile procurement card expenses, assist with preparation of travel vouchers, requisitions, journal entries and IDs. Prepare recruitment materials, maintain office supply inventory, and order office supplies. Coordinate and organize a variety of projects including mailings, communication plans and events, on campus and off.
QualificationsAssociate degree or Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of administrative support experience in an academic setting are desirable.

  • Institutional knowledge, collaborative work style, good judgement, and ability to interact with a diverse body of students, parents and faculty are necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary ‘meet and greet’ staff member for prospective students via telephone, email, and in-person visits. Welcome visitors, coordinate visits with central Admissions and assist recruitment team in daily prospective student visits and presentations.
  • Provide administrative support for ECS Admissions team; answer phones, send follow up correspondence to visitors. Work in University CRM (Slate) to record inquiry data and maintain visitor records.
  • Manage office supply inventory, order supplies, and assist with preparation of travel vouchers, requisitions, journal entries and IDs. Monitor and reconcile procurement card expenses.
  • Plan and coordinate Admissions events such as open house programs, new graduate student orientation, and other recruiting events.
  • Assist Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment with recruitment, training and coordination of student ambassadors to assist with tours and additional student outreach.
