About the role

Are you obsessed with the latest tech? Do you get just as excited over a snappy headline as a shocking twist in your latest binge-watch? Do you have a staunch opinion on the Oxford comma and friends who are tired of hearing about it? Let's chat.We're looking for an experienced copywriter with a flair for the creative to join the Roku Creative Studio team. Your mission is to write clear, impactful copy that stands out and motivates people to act. The ideal candidate seamlessly blends personality with product or service benefits, often distilling detailed information into as few words as possible.

What else... right, you'll need to be organized and manage multiple tasks at once, prioritizing to meet deadlines. Experience with financial products, fintech, or e-commerce is cool but not required. Most importantly, we want someone with true passion for copy and seeing it come to life in ways that impact millions of people on a daily basis. Sound good?
For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $89,000 - $172,000 annually.
Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What you will be doing
  • Write and edit copy for different environments including email, web, video, and more
  • Collaborate with the Copy Manager, designers, and cross-functional teams to ensure copy is clear, impactful, and meets both user and business needs
  • Own your business area, completing your projects on time with a high degree of autonomy and attention to detail
  • Be a proactive communicator with a positive attitude
  • Receive and implement feedback effectively
  • Embrace the tone and personality of the Roku brand and bring it to life in new, exciting ways
  • Have fun and be creative

We are excited if you have
  • 3-5 years of copywriting experience with an emphasis on product marketing
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to write for different brands and channels
  • Well-rounded writing background including email, video, web, and digital
  • Self-editing ability to fine-tune impactful copy in as few words as possible
  • Familiarity simplifying complex terms or ideas into casual, everyday language
  • Ability to receive feedback and use it constructively
  • Affinity for Oxford commas and em-dashes
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for streaming, TV, and tech
