Rogue Recruitment is partnering with a home security and automation company to find a SQL Database Administrator. This is a direct hire role with compensation ranging from $100-120K/yr, DOE. While we are listing this role as hybrid, it is mostly remote with only occasional time in the office.

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing complex SQL databases in an enterprise level environment.
• High proficiency with SSIS / SSRS.
• Experience in the command side of inquiry app analysis and be familiar with blocking and liking procedures.
• Thorough understanding of storage architecture and how I/O paths for different databases affect SQL operations.
• Competency in performing regular DBA tasks, such as monitoring growth and performance.
• Familiarly with Ola Hallengren scripts is a big plus.

• This role is open because of internal movement / a promotion. The company is experiencing a lot of stable growth from acquisitions. As such, they are building out their team. Long term, there is the potential for this person to have other DBAs under them as they take on more of a lead role.
• Their technical environment is mainly virtualized using SQL Server. They recently upgraded their storage area for improved speed and performance. Despite some elements being hosted in Azure, the majority of their work is done in a virtual VMware environment. Their primary ERP application, Master Mind, handles system monitoring, business functions, and job scheduling, and is critical to their operations. This application has its own built-in redundancy, eliminating the need for SQL DBA mirroring. They operate two servers, one for monitoring and one for business functions, which can swap roles as needed. 
• The environment also features several other SQL servers, including a consolidated server housing multiple databases, a data warehouse server, and application-specific servers. This role requires proficiency in SQL DBA, SSRS, and SSIS due to their frequent data migration activities and the need to maintain and transfer a large number of reports to new servers.
• They are currently working on shifting processes from a consolidated server to a new integration server, specifically for data warehousing and reporting purposes. They already moved the reports to a new report server, though it's not yet operational. They are also involved in job analysis, particularly technician job analysis, which is expected to expand to include areas like revenue forecasting. Presently, these tasks are largely performed manually with SSIS packages that they have developed. He is also looking to transition some of this work to server services. Additionally, they have set up a connector to Power BI in the cloud from their analysis services on the server, so proficiency in this area would be beneficial.
• This role reports to their Director of Application, who used to be their DBA and has been with the team for several years. He trusts his team and provides tasks, but then steps back and doesn't micromanage. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge that he can help train with.
