Candidates will be expected to teach Chemistry to acombined 9th, 10th, and 11th grade cohort of students, with differentiation to include grade-level andhonors-level coursework within the course. Science offerings at Nishmat Adin rotate on a three-yearcycle that alternates with Biology and Physics. Priority will be given to a teacher who can stay on forthe following year to teach Biology (the school employs a teacher who can teach physics, and so thisposition does not require the candidate to teach physics). This is an excellent position for someoneseeking flexible or part-time hours and/or supplemental income. Outstanding candidates should beeffective, engaging, approachable, caring, and reliable.Essential Job Functions:• Course Instruction and Commitment to Professional Excellenceo Willingness to formulate course curricula or implement existing course curricula.o Delivering engaging science lessons in the sciences, which must include ability to teachchemistry and preferentially biology as wello Developing a laboratory science program for the school. Of note, the school does nothave a dedicated laboratory facility. Candidates should be comfortable designingexperiments that demonstrate scientific principles using non-laboratory materials andsettings. Alternatively, the school is open to candidates who are willing to work withlocal schools or organizations to arrange for occasional lab experiences for our students.o Grading exams, tests, quizzes, assignments, and presentations, and contacting parentsand other faculty members to discuss concerns and schedule interventionso Assessing student work and provide meaningful feedback to guide learning and growtho Providing extra support to struggling students and additional resources to those whodisplay exceptional interest in science.o Regularly expanding educational networks and participating in workshops, lectures, andother learning opportunities.• Contributing to a Positive and Supportive School Culture:o Building personal relationships with all students that demonstrate respect andcompassion
