Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and hard-working individual to join our Facilities team as a Facilities Assistant at Horsham Hospital.
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the departmental team, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach within the Facilities Department.
This role involves performing portering and cleaning duties across all areas of the healthcare premises to the required standards, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
This position includes a considerable amount of manual handling and physical work.

Main duties of the job
This role plays a key part in enhancing the efficiency of our service with multi-skilled staff to improve the patient experience.
The position is on a rota with 2 weekends out of 5 working.
Key Responsibilities :
Cleaning Duties :
Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing in all designated areas.Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, patient rooms, public areas, and offices.
Ensure all cleaning activities are conducted in accordance with health and safety guidelines and standards.Dispose of waste appropriately, ensuring recycling protocols are followed.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patient rooms and common areas.Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and cleaning materials.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
Portering Duties :
Assist with the transportation of patients and equipment within the premises.Deliver medical supplies, records, and equipment to various departments.
Support with setting up rooms for meetings or events as needed.Conduct regular checks on equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
